James Roberson, School Representative and Manager

Roberson’s Music, Fredericksburg, Virginia

James

James literally grew up at Roberson’s Music.  He’s been with the store since July 9, 1982 (yes, he was 5 days old).  James has come a long way from his days of riding his Fisher Price school bus around and playing his Jr. Pro drumset in the window of the store on Caroline St.  He follows in Harry’s footsteps as a professional drummer and learning the repair trade. In 2005 he was hired by Henrico County as a firefighter and was recently promoted to Master Firefighter.  James is also the co-director of “Mission to Virginia”, a construction ministry founded by Beaverdam Baptist Church.

In March of 2008, James was blessed with a daughter, Emma.  She is quite the “daddy’s girl” and loves to have special “daddy dates.”  Her favorite is going to jump on the inflatables then going for ice cream.  You’ll sometimes find her working the front counter with daddy or ammy (Sheila).  In September of 2011, James’ second daughter, Margaret, was born.  She is well on her way to being a daddy’s girl like her big sister.

Having grown up in the store, James has learned the inner workings of the business and understands the necessity of outstanding customer service.  He currently serves as our sales manager and school representative.  James regularly travels around to area schools meeting with band and orchestra directors as well as students.  The goal of his position is to stay up to date on what our customers need and to keep Roberson’s Music involved in music education.
